Privacy policy.

Last updated: 1 June 2026

This page explains how personal data is handled when you use therapyramirez.com or contact Luis Ramírez Vega ("the practitioner", "I"). It is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679, "GDPR") and the Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection and Digital Rights (LOPDGDD).

1. Data controller

The data controller is Luis Ramírez Vega, with professional address in Barcelona, Spain. For any data-protection matter you can write to luis@therapyramirez.com.

2. What I collect

When you submit the contact form on this site I receive: your name, your email address, your language preference, whether you are enquiring about individual or couples work, and the optional note you write. The server also records standard technical metadata (timestamp, IP address) for the limited purpose of preventing spam and abuse.

If we proceed to a discovery call or to therapy, I will collect the minimum clinical information required to provide the service. That clinical record is kept separately from the website and is governed by professional confidentiality, not by this notice.

3. Why I collect it (legal basis)

Contact-form data is processed on the basis of your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a service) and, where applicable, your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Technical metadata is processed under legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) to keep the site secure.

4. Who can see it

Your data is read by me. It is stored on infrastructure operated by third-party processors (website hosting and transactional email delivery) under data-processing agreements compliant with Article 28 GDPR. No data is sold, traded, or used for advertising. International transfers, if any, rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long it is kept

Contact-form messages are retained while we are in active conversation and for up to twelve months afterwards, then deleted. If we enter a therapeutic relationship, clinical records are kept for the period required by Spanish health and professional regulations (typically five years from the last consultation) and then destroyed.

6. Cookies

This site uses only strictly necessary cookies required for the page to function. It does not use advertising, profiling, or third-party analytics cookies and therefore does not require a consent banner under the ePrivacy Directive.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, rectification of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal data, and you may object to processing. Write to luis@therapyramirez.com. I will reply within thirty days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data-protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially the new version will be published on this page with an updated date above. The previous version remains available on request.
